The Covaris E220 enables high-throughput sample sonication and processes from one to 96 samples in a 96-well plate or in individual glass micro-tubes. The target fragment size range can be chosen between 150 bp and 5 kb. The Covaris focused sonicators are the standard equipment to reproducibly shear nucleic acid and chromatin in an unbiased fashion for high-throughput sequencing applications. The Covaris requires proprietary glass tubes which are available in the Core for a fee as 130 ul microtubes, 130 ul microtube 96-well plates, and as 1 ml millitubes.
